Sword Method

A tool to study the word of god

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

~BIBLE (Hebrews 4: 12)

What is Sword method?

It is a simple tool that anyone can use in order to get more out of the bible study. It can be used to study the bible while studying it alone or with the family or in a groups of friends gathering in order to get deeper into the word. In this process we ask four different questions. In order to easily remember the four questions, its illustrated using a sword. when we read a passage these are the four questions that we ask:
first, sword pointing upward denotes God and so we ask,“What do we learn about God?”
Second,The hilt is in the hands of men and so we ask,“What do we learn about man?
Third, One blade reminds to ask,“Is there a sin to avoid?” Then finally the
fourth question represented by the other blade is: “Is there an example to follow or a Command to obey?

"Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them."

~Jesus Christ (John 14:21)
